It has been some time since I have updated this, and I'm afraid I nearly forgot about it. I know that I haven't become as popular as I was back home in Japan, but that all comes with being in a new territory and a new country, I suppose. Though, it appears that I'll have the opportunity to meet new roommates. I'll be living with two girls called Merope Gaunt and Rachel Berry. If you ladies would like supper one evening, I would be happy to take you both out for supper.

It has been quite some time since I have updated this post. I've easily adjusted to life here in Kansas and find myself bored, yet again, in classes. I sit here in these simple criminal justice courses and cringe because this information is far too basic for my liking. I've already been out in the field. I work at the police station here. Why torture me in a walled in classroom like this?
I rarely see my roommates, luckily. It makes staying up late easier for me to work. What is there for a bored college student to do to pass the time? Clearly, my professors aren't able to keep me entertained.

I must admit that American universities don't really measure up to To-Oh University. Then again, I'm not all that surprised. To come here, all I needed was proof that I could pay tuition and have decent grades. When I was admitted into To-Oh, I needed to take an entrance exam. There was a grand ceremony that permitted us to officially become the new freshman class. When I mentioned that I'd wanted to study in America as per my father's wishes, they almost immediately offered me a scholarship to do so. It's sometimes ridiculous how easy it is here, though.
And the detective world doesn't seem to be much better off. The system doesn't seem to be too well-developed or set up very coherently. In Japan, we clearly have a Chief of Police (my father) who knew precisely what he was doing.
Then again, perhaps I should ask if any of the current detectives are willing to try to prove me wrong? I've worked closely with the top police officials of Japan, and even with an infamous detective known world-wide as L, to solve several prime crime cases. If anyone can provide me a decent challenge, I'd gladly accept.

Perhaps I should take this opportunity to formally introduce myself to everyone. My name is Light Yagami and I am a sophomore attending this university after transferring from To-Oh University in Japan. I'm training to follow in my father's footsteps as a law enforcement agent, particularly in crime scene investigation. My father serves as the Chief of Police of the top agency in Japan and I've aided him in solving several cases already. I entered To-Oh University as the top student in my freshman class and received a full scholarship to come study here. My father was the one to suggest that I take this opportunity, so I have.
So far, I enjoy what I've found here in Kansas. It's pleasant enough, though I will have to admit that things are pretty quiet around here. It's nice for a change compared to the bustling city where I grew up. It's certainly a nice change from Tokyo. I've already met one of my wonderful roommates and I won't hesitate to say that she's rather intelligent and, if I might be so humble to say so, rather beautiful, as well. That is also a nice change from many of the girls that I've come across back home.
I'm looking forward to meeting each and every one of you through our journey through our classes.
